Meet Sandra, a resilient individual who has experienced a transformative journey with Dress for Success Twin Cities (DFSTC). After facing health challenges, including a stroke and Ruptured Brain Aneurysm in early 2022, Sandra's confidence, health, and finances were deeply impacted.
DFSTC stepped in to provide more than just a new wardrobe; we instilled a renewed sense of determination and self-belief. Through confidence coaching sessions and the support of a diverse community of women, Sandra found herself not only acquiring new attire but also receiving a wealth of encouragement and empowerment.
With weekly motivational Zoom meetings and the genuine aid offered by DFSTC, she discovered a rare space where women from all walks of life uplift and inspire one another. For Sandra, personal success has evolved from the initial steps of attending meetings and engaging in self-care routines to a profound sense of self-worth and purpose.
Today, she defines success as embracing every moment, serving others, and cherishing her own journey. Dress for Success played a pivotal role in Sandra's transformation, supporting her from a place of uncertainty to one of gratitude and growth, and for that, she remains humbly grateful.

How as DFSTC helped you to advance your career?
Dress for Success has helped to advance my career with offering me a sense of, get back out there, and make it happen for yourself!! After suffering a stroke and Ruptured Brain Aneurysm in Jan. 2022, my health, my confidence, my finances took a MAJOR HIT, and I needed new clothes, due to the weight that I'd gained from the steroids as well as being inactive for months. With the confidence coaching session with the women of Dress for Success, I was able to purchase and earn a new wardrobe. I have had women from all walks of life sow into my life with encouragement and uplifting words, that I truly did not know existed. I've been in Minnesota for 21 years and became aware of this organization less than a year ago. It's truly been life changing.
What do you like best about our services and community?
What I like best about Dress for Success is the ability to be Sandra! I am inspired and encouraged by women in all walks of life. The wèekly zoom meetings are so motivational. They truly aid and assist women, and this is seldom seen, in the communities that I have worked with.
How do you define Personal Success for yourself and how has DFSTC help you advance your career?
It's funny to answer this question now because, initially when I began with Dress for Success a few months ago, I'd say Success was getting out of the bed to get onto my zoom meetings. Or getting on to the treadmill for 15 min 3 times a day. But today Success means so much more and I'm sure in the next coming months, it'll reflect upon another aspect of discovery of self. Yet to answer today, it truly means believing that I am worth the investment! I am worth getting up on a daily basis and awakening to the sunshine, opening up my curtains and taking a daily shower. Success to me is journaling my thoughts and how I reflect upon my life. It's having my daily devotions. It's making follow up phone calls, it's servicing people when they walk through the door at America's Best, it's returning phone calls to family and friends. It's being present for every living moment. Truthfully before Dress for Success, I was in a slump. I wasn't really cognizant of it, but I was. The best thing that I could have done was to pray for The Almighty to please help me to help myself. I am a firm believer that He did, and He did it by making me pay attention to the email from this organization and prompting me to just go and see. I AM SO HUMBLY GRATEFUL THAT I DID!!
