Saida Yassin is a self described healthcare professional and lifelong learner. Beginning her extensive career in the medical field in 2006, Saida interned at the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center in Tanzania. Following the internship, she worked as a Program Manager with the Malaria Mwisho Project focusing on grassroots projects intended to educate residents and eradicate malaria in the Kiomoni village. After relocating to the U.S., Saida worked and volunteered in a variety of healthcare positions before working as a pharmacy technician in Minneapolis. She also worked as a medical interpreter for a number of years before joining the team at Axis Medical Center where she wore multiple hats- including Chief Operations Officer. In 2017, she began her residency with Hennepin County Medical Center and just last month she completed the Geriatric Medicine Fellowship with Hennepin Healthcare. This fellowship prepares internists and family physicians to be leaders and experts in clinical practice with the elderly. As she begins a career transition this month, we are excited to see what's next for Dr. Yassin!
