Hello, I'm Makayla, the Executive Assistant at Dress for Success Twin Cities and a dedicated advocate committed to fostering inclusive workplaces. With 4 to 5 years of nonprofit experience in social media management, information technology, human resources, and project management, I bring a wealth of expertise to support Dress for Success' mission of promoting economic independence for low-income women and gender expansive individuals.
As a Black woman who has navigated various workplace challenges, I empathize with and comprehend the distinctive hurdles encountered. Dress for Success's mission and values align perfectly with my own; I recognize the importance of integrity, the power of cultivating a network of support, and the value of inclusivity as essential elements for success. Fueled by a sociology major, my collaborative skills in human resources, IT/administration, and diversity, equity, and inclusion make me eager to contribute to Dress for Success' vital work.
One fun fact about me is that I volunteer for Pet Haven Inc of MN, where I care for cats and process owner surrender intakes for cats coming into our shelter!
