Dear Dress for Success Twin Cities community:
You asked for it. You named it (thanks social media polls!)
And now I am proud to announce that our Success Express will be hitting the road across the Twin Cities region beginning in January.
If you haven’t heard the exciting news yet, the Success Express is our brand-new mobile confidence center. The idea for the Success Express came after the resounding success of our transition to online and mobile learning that was necessary after experiencing the pandemic, the uprisings, and a fire in our former headquarters all in the course of 18 months.
We heard from the women we work with that they loved the flexibility and accessibility of a fully online and mobile model. We heard from employers that they want to meet more of the talented women who are enrolled in our programs. And we know that women are coming to Dress for Success Twin Cities from all over the region and increasingly in other parts of Minnesota and beyond.
With the Success Express, we’ll be able to bring our life-changing programming to women where they already gather in their communities —as well as directly to employers who are looking for new talent.
Thanks to our amazingly creative design partners from Studio BV, this retrofitted RV will be fully decked out with a boutique, changing rooms, space to meet with career mentors, and all the technology necessary to work on resumes, conduct a job search, or register for additional programming.
This is only possible because our community stepped up and helped us make it happen. We are so grateful for the capital support provided by the FS Foundation, the F.R. Bigelow Foundation, the Mardag Foundation, the Opus Foundation, Thomson Reuters and UPS, all of whom understood our vision and quickly jumped on board to provide the necessary funding to purchase and retrofit the RV.
And now, we are asking you to play a role in getting the Success Express to as many Minnesota communities as possible. With this exciting new venture will come new expenses—gas, maintenance, and other operating costs that are essential for our success, but hard to fund.
We need our supporters to stand up and invest in this vision with a donation of any amount that is meaningful to you—whether it’s $5 or $500, it matters so much to us.
The exciting thing to imagine is that every one of you who sends in a check or makes a secure, online donation at dressforsuccesstwincities.org will be able to see your donation in action when the Success Express comes to a location near you. We cannot wait to see each and every one of you and to thank you personally for your support.
This is such a proud moment for everyone who has ever put time, effort, and money into Dress for Success Twin Cities—from when we were a tiny startup right up until this transformative moment.
Thank you for coming along for the ride.
Sincerely,
