Client Success Story

From Searching for Direction
to Stepping Into Her Power

Georgia Coleman shares how Dress for Success Twin Cities helped her find stability, confidence, and a community that believed in her.

Georgia Coleman came to Dress for Success Twin Cities at a crossroads — searching for stability, direction, and the confidence to move forward in her career. Today, she is thriving.

Georgia recently completed the ULead Program — a selective cohort experience for clients who demonstrate exceptional skill, potential, and commitment, and who take on an expanded leadership role within the DFSTC community. She graduated just a few weeks ago, and we could not be more proud.

We sat down with Georgia to hear her story, in her own words.

About the ULead Program

The ULead program invites a select group of DFSTC clients to apply, interview, and be chosen to work closely alongside staff and coaches on their personal and professional development. ULeaders engage in expert-led workshops, take on greater responsibility within the organization, and serve as examples of what is possible. It is one of the highest expressions of trust and recognition DFSTC offers its clients.

Where were you in your career when you first came to DFSTC, and where are you today?

When I first connected with Dress for Success Twin Cities, I was at a point in my career where I was looking for stability, confidence, and direction. I knew I had potential, but I needed support to better position myself professionally.

Today, I'm in a much stronger place — more confident in my abilities, more prepared in professional settings, and actively growing in my career. DFSTC played a meaningful role in helping me take those steps forward and believe in what I could achieve.

What made you decide to start services with DFSTC?

I decided to start services with Dress for Success Twin Cities because I was looking for guidance and resources that could help me move forward in my career. What stood out to me was how welcoming and encouraging the experience was from the very beginning.

It wasn't just about professional development — it was about feeling seen, supported, and empowered. That positive and uplifting environment made a lasting impression on me.

Which services or supports did you find most helpful?

The services I found most helpful were the career readiness support, professional development resources, and the opportunity to build confidence in how I present myself. Whether it was workshops, one-on-one guidance, or access to professional attire, each piece contributed to helping me feel more prepared and capable.

Those supports helped me build a stronger foundation and take meaningful steps toward my goals.

How did the DFSTC community make a difference for you?

The DFSTC community made a huge difference in my experience. The staff, volunteers, and other participants created a space that felt supportive, empowering, and judgment-free. Being surrounded by people who genuinely want to see you succeed is incredibly impactful.

Their encouragement helped build my confidence and reminded me that I wasn't alone in my journey. I would absolutely recommend Dress for Success Twin Cities to others because of the way they uplift, support, and invest in the success of every individual who walks through their doors.

"Being surrounded by people who genuinely want to see you succeed is incredibly impactful."
